Datahub Analytics is looking for a senior data
modeler to join our team and play a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and
maintaining our data architecture to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and
scalability. The senior data modeler will work with stakeholders in both
technical and business areas.
As
a Senior Data Modeler, you will develop conceptual, clear physical data models
that represent the organization’s data requirements and business processes. You
will collaborate with database administrators, developers, and stakeholders to
implement and optimize database solutions based on the defined models. You will
ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data by implementing data
validation rules, integrity constraints, and quality assurance processes. This
role requires a keen eye for data integrity, excellent technical skills, and a
passion for turning data into actionable insights.
The
purpose of this role is to design and conduct analysis within assigned
technical area(s); conduct advanced technical analysis and estimation for
primary models, and develop recommendations, communications, and technical
reports.
Duties
and Responsibilities
- Designs
and develops input data for planning/modelling operation and analysis.
- Conducts
enhancements and maintenance to models and tools.
- Understand
end-to-end solutions and suggest data management solutions that will meet
or exceed the expectations of the customers.
- Ensure
that data designs meet business requirements and systems goals and
identify and resolve data quality and consistency issues.
- Understands
how data supports business processes and how to find gaps in data or
processes and then develop strategies for improving these systems.
- Support
new and existing development projects with data and process modelling
activities.
- Perform
database and data warehouse design across multiple platforms.
- Perform
data analysis for source system data and develop conceptual, logical, and
physical models.
- Conducts
thorough unit testing.
- Estimates
level of effort for work assignments and requests received, then
communicates accordingly to the Project Manager to determine delivery
time.
- Participate
in data governance processes related to data quality and information
management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s
degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or a closely related
field.
- Minimum
4 years of experience working with data models.
- Strong
analytical, problem solving, and work management skills.
- Proficiency
with some leading data profiling tools (such as SQL, BI tools, SSAS, DAX,
semantic layers technology… etc)
- Strong
knowledge of data modelling best practices.
- Participate
in data governance processes related to data quality and information
management.
- Conducts
thorough unit testing.
- Writes
design specifications for solutions as identified by Analyst, lead, and/or
management.
- Support
new and existing development projects with data and process modelling
activities.
- Expertise
in entity, logical and physical data models.
- Exposure
and understanding of Big Data technologies and architectures.
- Ability
to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to
achieve common goals.
- Ability
to lead and manage junior resources.
